Marine Design: Airborne Rescue Watercraft Concept

Final project for Marine Design course, first ever held in art center. Most of the colleagues and instructors liked my idea and supported me throughout the finishing line. Presentation was held on the bridge, which is a great chance to showcase my hardwork :)

Learning Digital Painting

Indicative illustration based on a photograph. This took some time, but the result was not too bad. From viscom 5 with Ian Cartabiano.

Ad-Pages for ADult entertainment convention :p

Developed out of a one-week assignment in "Creative Strategies" with Mr. Fridolin Besert. The strategy was cross-polination; so I fused "adult expo" and "macro-photography" together. There are more to the set, but these three were the successful ones.

Early photoshop attempts

Hyundai Mini-Limo Project

Runaway project from fourth term. Never was sure how this flying-butress mini-limo going to turn out...

Overdue: The only architectural model I've ever built

Did this during first term. It was for one of those filler classes that forced us to learn google sketchup. This particular project was to design a facade for a store on Colorado Blvd.in (Oldtown) Pasadena. I choose to re-do the Rusnak/Audi dealership :P

"napkin" sketch!

Part of a short group assignment for "History of Automotive"... primitive sketching, but fun to do nonetheless.

Solidworks Product/Ad-page Exercises

Splash pages for my first product design related course. The BOSS perfume bottle was the midterm. The subsonix speaker shell was a quick project that ended up being a part of my final presentation. Last but not least, architecture inspired crystal fruit plates (but the models are made of laser-cut acrylics). Thinking of making a whole mag spread for Crate & Barrel with the plates...

Fun with Stewie!

Old assignment back from term 2, but I still have them displayed at home.
Just poking harmless fun at Warhol, Rembrandt, Picasso...

Overdue Viscom Issue: Alfa Romeo TIpo 33 "Stradale"

My all-time favorite automobile.
Alfa Romeo Tipo-33 Stradale.
So rare, that apparently less than 20 was made.

Overdue Viscom Issue : Lamborghini Miura Engine Monochromatic

I meant to post some work last year, but never got around to it. So here they come. Beginning with Velazco's engine rendering assignment, this is a close up for Miura's crazy v-12.

Finally posting.

From now on, I'm dedicating this blog as a pre-website work screening. While I'm going to be struggling to create my own web-space from scratch, everything else that I will be publishing will be here first.

The next step

is to inject my DNA into the designs I create.

Beginning Alias: 4th Week

Just being lazy. I always wanted to do swarovski something.

Beginning Alias: 3rd Week

Some wheel design exercise. I really needed to get BBS webs to get out of my head, so there. I think I'm keeping the architecture inspired wheel for later projects.

Beginning Alias: 1st Week

First Week of Digital 3D Modeling. We have Nik Stefanov as instructor. Cool guy, cool class. Alias Autodesk is definitely a beatdown to learn from scratch. But rendering it with HyperShot was really fast. Maybe I should post some sketches preluding these models.

Viscom IV: 4th Week

Muscle Week. The rebel wins.

Viscom IV: 3rd week

This time I was able to control the lighting a little bit. Design-wise it is a little too simple. I think I went too happy with those black chalk, my overall rendering quality came too dark. But thank god for photoshop right.
I also received a warning to never ever do a warped extreme perspective again...

Viscom IV: 2nd week

Again, speedform inspired vehicles. I added drop shadow, panel cuts, and quick glass/interior indication to add "believability" to them. The lighting needed to be more focused into a "featured" area of design. Maybe next time.

These are work examples from my first week in Viscom 4. Speedform inspired vehicles. The crit were great, I was immediately aware of my shortcomings... seems that I did these too fast.
